Labour Exchange

Employers and jobseekers are encouraged to take advantage of the Botswana Labour Market Observatory (LMO) employment exchange service which brings them together by allowing employers to post vacancies free of charge while job seekers react by submitting their credentials and applying online.

In order to facilitate the employment exchange service, both the employer and the jobseeker are required to first register on the website. For employers, the registration process entails completion of forms and provision of the necessary information for validation by the website administrator. After validation, employers would then be able to post vacancies on the website and to search for skills that they require for their organizations.

Job seekers after registering online would then post their resumes for the attention of employers and can also apply for the posted jobs on-line. Job-seekers not registered can only view the advertised jobs but cannot apply online.

Organisations are also requested to forward any information they have on the labour market to HRDC via email to further populate the LMO website as well as to increase information dissemination.

Another key feature of the LMO include, among others, a Labour Market Information System (LMIS). The LMIS has been developed to generate forecasts on the supply and demand for labour and thus, assist in establishing mismatches in the labour market.
